Five Women’s Golfers Named as WGCA All-American Scholars
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — Creighton University had five women who are among the 1,497 collegiate golfers recognized by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association as All-American Scholars. The Bluejay honorees include freshmen Abby Aeschleman, Annie Dawson and Katharine Marshall, sophomore Annika Yturralde and junior Eleanor Hudepohl.
Creighton’s five honorees were the third-most in the BIG EAST, trailing only St. John’s (7) and Seton Hall (6). It’s the fifth straight season that Creighton’s had at least five players recognized.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50, and the student-athlete must have played in 50% of the college’s regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team’s conference championship.
The Bluejays are coached by Debbie Conry. The women in the golf program own a cumulative GPA of 3.75 and team school year GPA of 3.79.
